[OʻAHU] UPDATED 5/21/25 – Diamond Head State Monument (DHSM): Updated June Operating Hours - The rockfall mitigation project began January 6, 2025 and will run until September 5, 2025 or upon completion of the construction project at the Kahala Tunnel. Please check the Diamond Head State Monument website for updated park operation hours during this time.

[MOLOKA’I] - UPDATE 5/19/25: Pala’au State Park Pavilion: Due to continued renovation work, the pavilion closure has been extended from June 1 to July 1. The Pala’au Canping Area has been CLOSED from May 30 to June 30, 2025.

[KAUAʻI] - UPDATE 3/21/25: Pā‘ula‘ula State Historic Site - Due to construction improvements, the park closure will begin starting March 24 until further notice.

FOOD TRUCK CONCESSIONAIRES SOUGHT FOR MĀKENA STATE PARK DLNR’s Division of State Parks is in search of food truck parties interested in leasing concession space at Mākena State Park. Notice of Intent & Qualifications Questionnaire will be available 6/1/2025 – 6/20/2025 online and at the DSP office in Maui and Honolulu. Submission of these two forms is required to be eligible to move on in the bidding process. Hard copies of the forms must be submitted in-person or via mail, electronic submissions WILL NOT be accepted. ONE winner will be selected.
The State of Hawaii, Board of Land and Natural Resources, is issuing an Invitation for Bids (“IFB”) to qualified parties interested in a Mobile Food Concession of state-owned lands within the Mākena State Park situated on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, pursuant to Chapter 102, Hawaii Revised Statues (“HRS”). The notice to bidders will be advertised in the Star Advertiser on June 1, 2, and 6, 2025.
Before any prospective bidder shall be entitled to submit a bid, the prospective bidder must meet the minimum qualifications set forth in the IFB and shall submit a completed Qualification Questionnaire and give written notice of intent to bid on the Notice of Intention to Bid form by 4:00 PM Hawaii Standard Time (“HST”) June 20, 2025, to the Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of State Parks (“DSP”), 1151 Punchbowl Street, Room 310, Honolulu, HI 96813.
Sealed Bids are due on or before 2:00 PM HST on July 7, 2025, at DSP, located at:
